Narcissus - Beautifully Grotesque

There is something so grotesque about this. The hair, the pores, and the dripping saliva. All of it. I love it. It's so beautifully grotesque. There is also something I must share with you. This shot was an accident actually. I never intended the straight lines and triptych format. This is one shot, not three photographs put together. That's why the camera is visible. It was all an accident. It was a gorgeous accident though! Now that the camera is display with prevalent amateurishness I feel this work takes on the feel of the Myspace photo. Not exactly though, no arm reaching up above to snapshot oneself in the mirror of their suburban bathroom. It's a different in between kind of narcissism and camera whoring.

That narcissism, internet karma whoring, and e-begging for attention is very interesting for me. Fascinating things to study within myself and others.
